After attending the Master's of Fine Arts program in Photography and Related Media at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, Lynn Shelton decided she would get into the film industry by becoming a film editor and editing her own movies on the side. She has garnered attention for her 2009 comedy "Humpday," about two buddies who reunite ten years after college and decide to make an artsy porno together, which she wrote and directed. "Humpday" premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival where it won the Special Jury Prize and was quickly picked up by Magnolia Pictures. It was also shown at other film festivals that include: Cannes and South by Southwest where it received an extended standing ovation.
