Neil Blomkamp is a South African-born director of feature-length and short films and advertisements. Blomkamp uses a documentary-style, hand-held technique, blending naturalistic and photo-realistic computer generated effects. His first feature is “District 9,” the critically acclaimed film about an alien ship hovering over Johannesburg, South Africa.
