bio
John Hillcoat is an Australian screenwriter and film director. He has repeatedly worked with Nick Cave and also the band Depeche Mode. He directed the film “The Proposition” and his most recent project “The Road,” based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy, premiered at the 2009 Toronto Film Festival. It starred Viggo Mortensson and Charlize Theron.
