Anthony LaPaglia grew up in Australia and moved to New York City in his late twenties. LaPaglia built his acting resumé throughout the early '90s and he found himself working alongside accomplished actors early in his career. Among those actors were Alan Alda in “Betsy's Wedding,” Michael Keaton in “One Good Cop,” and Nathan Lane, Sharon Stone, and Kevin Bacon in “He Said, She Said.” Later in 1992, LaPaglia played his first leading role in George Gallo's gangster film “29th Street.” He then portrayed a more serious gangster opposite Susan Sarandon in “The Client.” His next films provided a change of pace; “Mixed Nuts,” Empire Records” and the Australian directed “Brilliant Lies.” LaPaglia also acted in Steve Buscemi's directorial debut “Trees Lounge,” and had a role as a detective in Spike Lee's “Summer of Sam.” He landed a starring role on CBS's “Without a Trace,” and a recurring role on the long-running sitcom “Frasier.” In 2002 LaPaglia worked with Val Kilmer on “The Salton Sea;” Sigourney Weaver for “The Guys;” Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal in “Analyze That;” and Eric Stoltz in “Happy Hour.” In 2003, after filming “Manhood” with Janeane Garofalo and John Ritter, LaPaglia starred in director Josh Sternfeld's “Winter Solstice.”
