MakingOf: I want to first start off with like, how do you prepare for your role as Kick-Ass and then go into preparing for your own role.

(Aaron Johnson): I mean, at the time, there was only issues one to three of Kick-Ass. You know, I pulled as much from there, and then, obviously, was a comic book fan and reader so I went and pulled out a lot of Mark Millar’s stuff on one hand and Watchmen on what have you. But, I don’t know, I tried to sort of kind of create the character from the comic book as much as I could as possible. I mean, Matthew didn’t even want me to wear glasses and I kind of got that one in. But I asked if I could be blonde; if they could die my hair blond, I fought with them for ages on that one, but he said know. And his point was because have you seen Alexander?

MO: Yeah, way back in the day.

(AJ): There you go.

MO: Oliver Stone.

(AJ): Yeah. That’s it. That’s all he needed to say.

(Clark Duke): Did you do any physical training though? Did you work out for it? You look great. You look really nice in the film.

MO: How do you guys feel about this whole thing that is going on now? The film industry taking on these all these comic books and making them big budget movies?

(AJ): I think Mark Millar is pretty happy at the moment. How do I feel about it? I think they are great. Comic books is kind of how it all started. It’s pitches. It’s a way of telling stories. And I think I guess it’s how it sort of started really. They are like story boards really. To take a comic and then transform it into a movie makes sense. They have a huge fan base and they take peoples imaginations away with them. They are creative and entertaining.

(CD): I mean, as a lifelong fan, I enjoy the good ones like Iron Man and Dark Knight and Kick-Ass is really awesome. But then every now and then you get, like, you know, Daredevil.

MO: How did you work with the director choreographing scenes of fighting? How does that go about?

(AJ): Well, we had a fantastic stunt crew, so that kinda helps. Literally, for me, my character is forever sort of rolling on the floor getting his head kicked in and waving his arms about. But Chloe spent about two or three months training pretty hard core. And it shows.

(CD): Yeah, she is incredible.

MO: Any last advise you have for aspiring comedians, comedic actors, awesome actors.

(AJ): Do we have any advice for..?

MO: Kids are training and they want to be like you guys. How can they do that?

(AJ): I mean, I don’t think anyone wants to be like me.

(CD): Just stick with it. I would just say be prepared for the rejection. Right?

(AJ): Yeah.

(CD): I mean that’s the main thing to get past.

(AJ): Yeah, yeah. Once you’ve got that then... if you just go in with an attitude like I don’t give a ****... and just be yourself. And I guess that’s it.

(CD): That’s when things will click.
